A ray of hope for sustainable development

It has been proven after recession that niche market strategy has its own flaws. Nowadays companies are shifting their focus towards mass market.
Our65 % of population lives in rural areas. Now as a future leader manager and growth drivers of nation, we have to think about opportunities exists in Indian rural areas.

Whenever I meet my friends and start discussing about new entrepreneurial opportunities it becomes a quality discussion. Before few days I went for the preparation of exams at my friend Manish Vaswani’s home and suddenly we move towards one such nice discussion.

It was about initiating a chain of schools in rural area. First of all whenever we talk about rural area, people have their own perceptions about it.
These are:-
1. There is a lack of infrastructure in villages
2. Villagers have a narrow view of life, and they are not interested in anything that will change their life
3. There is a lack of high living standard which prevent entrepreneurs to think about exploring opportunities over there
And a lot of other problems are there in rural areas. We know wherever a problem exists then solution becomes an entrepreneurial opportunity.
There are many reasons of high pace of urbanization in India. Education is one of them and a biggest problem in rural India.
My cousin sister’s marriage didn’t finalize in a village, although all other things (an Indian family looks for considering a good marriage relation) were present over there. My uncle doesn’t want to marry my sister in to rural area because of the future problem of grand son’s education?
Can’t we provide a good education (schooling) in rural area?

Contrary to above mention points I see over there:-
1. People have a lot of money to spend
2. Mindset of villagers is changing if we can refer to the past data of rural sales assortment
3. They are ready to spend a sufficient amount if they get good facilities over there ( for example mobile penetration)
I got schooling education in government school of my village where I spent initial years of my life. I know about the inefficiencies which are prevailing in rural education. But I am quiet aware about the fundamental changes happening in Indian rural areas, probably at some places you will find a Mercedes Benz is parked with a bull cart.

I see an exciting opportunity for the emerging entrepreneurs who are really interested in sustainable development of India. A Social entrepreneurship model with substantial profit can be created with this idea.

A quality education is needed to fostering a sustainable development of India. Do you really think so that would it be possible if we are ignoring 65% of our population?

  1. Boss, I did my schooling from govt. and saraswati schools, I would like to join you for this biz set up. The challenge is not to start the chain of schools or to provide the best quality of education, we can do that better than existing competitors, the challenge will be to retain the staff i.e. teachers, faculty etc. in rural areas as they get the opportunity they will move towards urban spheres.

  2. Dear Alok,
Thanks for showing confidence in this idea.
For entrepreneurs, every obstacle is solvable. Staff and faculty issue can be overcome by our brainstorming.
For example, Instead of sending urban people in to villages we should target those people (graduates) who are striving for job and belongs to rural area only, this thing will help us in two ways. One is they will stay with us for more time and second is they will help us in understanding local issues related to this idea.

  3. disagree yaar, still they will not stay with us, urban life style attracts every one you know that... nd we cant provide them better monetary benefits, as our revenus will be limited ...
